Toy Collection for Children
in Milwaukee
May 3 through May 10
MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary (MBHS) is a community homeless shelter in one of the poorest areas of Milwaukee. It was founded by MacCanon Brown, a former nun who was a founding member of Repairers of the Breach.
In an effort to mitigate the chaos, uncertainty and violence that many of their children face during the summer months, they are holding a toy collection to give to their children, ages 1 - 17.
Your Mission Outreach Committee hopes that you will join us in participating in this collection. Time is short, as the last day for delivery to MBHS is May 16. For that reason, our collection will take place on Sunday, May 3 and Sunday, May 10. Bins will be available in the church lobby on those two Sundays.
Please bring new, unwrapped gifts to church on one of those dates. Suggested gifts include:
For younger children: Craft kits; Play-Doh; Legos; Matchbox/Hot Wheels; dolls; jump ropes; roller blades; bubbles; sidewalk chalk; hula hoops; whiffle balls and bats; skateboards and helmets; books.
For older boys: Basketballs; other sports items; wallets; earbuds and gift cards.
For older girls: Manicure sets; bath sets; journals; jewelry and gift cards.
Thank you
