Nursery Ministries

Children are welcome in the nursery during Sunday morning worship services and Sunday School classes. The nursery is designed to accommodate children under the age of three. Children over the age of three are urged to attend Sunday School classes, worship services, Children's Church, and/or church events (as applicable). Of course, all children are always welcome and encouraged to participate in Sunday School and worship services regardless of age.

The nursery is equipped with toys, books, faith-based DVDs, rocking chairs, play pens, a changing station, a crib, a private nursing room, and most importantly a fully vetted, nurturung team that is here to lovingly guide your child(ren) on a journey toward the love of God.

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

Whether a young child is a first-time visitor to the nursery or one of our weekly regulars, we strive to weave faith practices into our time together. We are deliberate in practicing faith in our nursery setting.

Even though the children in the nursery are very young, the care provided by Cedarburg Community United Methodist Church is not a babysitting service but rather a nursery ministry. While the children are in the nursery, they will be prayed for as they are rocked, as they are held, and as they play. They will be taught a short, age-appropriate lesson that will help build a foundation of faith in their life. And through the actions and attitudes of the staff and volunteer(s), they will be shown the love of Christ.

This is a ministry that matters!

Nursery Ministry During Worship

While we encourage families to worship together in the sanctuary, we also understand that may not always best fit the needs of the little ones and/or their parents.  With that in mind, our nursery is open during worship services.

While the babies and toddlers are in the nursery they will be attentively cared for by staff and volunteers. Whether the children are playing, singing, or being read to, they will have the presence of God around them. This is an intentional ministry that demonstrates God's love through the loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, faithful, and gentle care provided by our nursery team.
